Each year the TCR continues to grow, and this has not gone unnoticed. Last year, the Texas Cowboy Reunion was named the 2018 United Professional Rodeo Association (UPRA) Stand United Series Rodeo of the Year. The TCR, along with TNT Rodeo Company Stock Contractor, was also named the 2018 Largest Rodeo of the Year by the UPRA. The TCR was also recognized in 2018 as the second highest paying rodeo.

There is a long list of things that make the TCR so great, but here are a few fun facts that made the 88th Texas Cowboy Reunion stand out from other rodeos. Over 100,000 Snapchats were posted from the rodeo grounds, $90,000 was paid out to contestants, about 20,000 fans came to see the rodeo, and 800 contestants entered the rodeo. Contestant ages: 11% were age 45 and over, 24% were age 36-44, and 65% were age 21-35.

The Texas Cowboy Reunion is honored to be named the UPRA Best Rodeo of the Year for the second year in row. UPRA contestants vote each year for their rodeo of choice. “In my history as a contestant, we chose this award for committees that had the hospitality, arena conditions, added money, livestock, performance quality, crowd size, and which rodeo committee just really put on the best rodeo,” said West Huggins, TCR Rodeo Announcer.

“It is a great honor, and I would like to personally thank all of our stockholders, board members, and chairpersons who work hard to make the TCR what it is,” said General Manager and TCR President Matt Mueller. “A special thank you goes to West and Keri Huggins, TNT Rodeo Company Stock Contractor, and Dawn Petty! Everyone working together makes this rodeo so successful.”

Each year the Texas Cowboy Reunion gets better and better, and this year will be no exception! The biggest change that many will enjoy will be the new grand stands. Be sure to follow the TCR Facebook page, Texas Cowboy Reunion Presented by- Capital Farm Credit, for all the latest updates and news!
